    Courtney Tatellgaq Rose Griechen is a multidisciplinary artist and musician from Pilot Point, Alaska. Now based in anchorage, Courtney’s early work focused on illustration of folklore and traditional stories from the Bristol Bay region, and her focus is now shifting from illustration to animation, oil painting, beading, and her music, in her band Murmur.   • Emory Banker / Salt Chuck Art (she/her)

    Anchorage

    Emory Banker is a lifelong Alaskan and the owner and artist behind Salt Chuck Art. She enjoys creating colorful art inspired by Alaska and the tough grit of Alaskans. Emory graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in illustration, with a concentration in publication and animated illustration. You can find more of her work at www.saltchuckart.com. While Emory is not creating art, she is gathering inspiration from her other work in remote Alaska, spending time teaching kids how to cross country ski with Skiku in the winter. In the summer she has commercial fished in Bristol Bay and guided fly fishing trips near Denali.

    Iñuraaq Kaylene Evans is an Iñupiaq artist from Sitñasuak (Nome), Alaska. She splits her time between Alaska and Hawai’i, with her husband Kekai, son Kealaula, and dog Nuna. She is passionate about Indigenous culture and language revitalization. She utilizes art and healing modalities to perpetuate and advocate for our Indigenous ways of life.

    Mariza Ryce Aparicio-Tovar is an indigiqueer full-time artist of Mexican indigenous descent residing in Alaska since 2014. Their art is influenced by life and work on Unangax̂, Sun'aq, Sugpiaq, and Dena'ina territories. Mariza's inspirations are connection to our natural environment as a source of support and meaningful relation, compassion for mental health, and decolonization. Their work explores self-awareness and empowerment, advocating care for our planet and ourselves so that collectively we experience our full potential.

  • Tava Maliaaq Kairaiuak (they/them)

    Nondalton, Chefornak, Karluk

    Tava Maliaaq Kairaiuak is a multidisciplinary artist of Dena'ina, Yup'ik, and Aleut heritage, based in Seattle, Washington. With roots in the villages of Nondalton, Chefornak, and Karluk, Tava's work is deeply influenced by their cultural background and upbringing in Anchorage, Alaska. Specializing in traditional techniques such as beading, skin sewing, and incorporating graphic design, Tava creates contemporary artwork that blends ancestral knowledge with modern forms. Their practice often explores the intersections of tradition and innovation, reflecting their experience as an urban Alaska Native artist. An emerging talent, Tava has gained recognition for their graphic design work, beadwork business, and a mural at the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

  • Vydell Baker (she/her)

    Wrangell

    Vydell (she/her) is Lingít, L’uknax̱.adí dachx̱an. Born and raised in Soldotna, Alaska, she grew up without the cultural exposure that some of her friends and relatives experienced. This absence has fueled her passion for cultural preservation and revitalization. As Director of Land Tours for Alaska Waters, Vydell serves as a cultural guide, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm. She is dedicated to inspiring others to learn about and participate in their cultures alongside her own. Outside of work, she practices indigenous based crafts like representative paintings, jewelry beading, harvesting devil's club, and more. She also aspires to start a small business to make learning about her heritage fun and accessible to more people.
