What does the RIO Program offer?

The Rural & Indigenous Outreach (RIO) Program will support list building and mobilizing for:

  • Rural Public Safety

  • Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Education Outreach

  • Rural Energy & Broadband Investments

  • Hunting and Fishing Rights

  • Land water, air protection.

  • And other contract work that aligns with our mission.

The RIO Working Group focuses on field organizing, canvassing, and data strategy by providing field organizing, canvassing, and data strategy.

The Mobilization Center (TMC) created a shared Targetsmart VAN committee that allows TMC and Indigenous partners to collectively invest in improving data (like phone numbers and mailing addresses) in rural Alaska and “Indigenize” the voter file in this committee by adding layers of information relevant to Indigenous and rural organizing to increase voter turnout in rural areas in Alaska.
